The protestant church archives
in Germany

are joint together in the

Verband kirchlicher Archive

(Association of Protestant Church Archives).

Together with the  Verband kirchlich-wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken the archives association constitutes the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Archive und Bibliotheken in der evangelischen Kirche.
Partners in professional cooperation are the Catholic church archives (Bundeskonferenz der kirchlichen Archive in der katholischen Kirche). Protestant and Catholic church archives form a special section (Fachgruppe) in the Verband deutscher Archivarinnen und Archivare - VdA (Association of German Archivists).
Contacts in the international field are kept through the Section of Archives of Churches and Religious Denominations of the International Council on Archives.
