World Council of Churches looks to bigger tent for next assembly

Geneva (ENI). The next assembly of the World Council of Churches, its highest governing body, scheduled for 2013 will include "expanded space" to increase participation by non-WCC member churches and organizations. However, it will not include joint assemblies with other world Christian bodies such as the World Alliance of Reformed Churches or the Lutheran World Federation, members of the WCC's main governing body, its central committee, were told on 27 August.
