Criteria for Evaluation
The EKD WebFish Internet Award is presented by the evangelical church to particularly successful Christian Internet contributions. The jury can only consider websites in German or English. Evaluation of an Internet contribution for the WebFish award in gold, silver and bronze follows the following criteria (version: September 2004):
Category A: Information and information architecture
+ Quality and quantity of the information provided
+ Design of contents in accordance with the liberating strength of the biblical message and the principles of the evangelical church
+ Processing of information, taking the Internet medium into consideration (headlines, wording, structure, design appropriate for target groups)
+ Focussing on specific target groups
+ Clear organisation (sitemap, navigation, categorisation)
Category B: Design and layout
+ Overall design idea
+ Buttons, logos
+ Colours used
+ Font size
+ Image formats
Category C: Communication and interaction
+ E-mail contact
+ Forums
+ E-cards
+ Community area
+ Imprint
Category D: Technical realisation
+ Functional ability
+ Browser compatibility (MS IE, Netscape, Opera, ...)
+ Use of innovative technology
+ Internet connection
+ Internet address (domain)
The following additional criteria apply for the
“Innovation” WebFish
The “Innovation” WebFish is awarded to an Internet contribution which does not meet all the specified criteria but has achieved a pioneering and excellent “innovation”.
WebFish “Special Prize”
The WebFish “Special Prize” is awarded to an Internet contribution which does not meet all the specified criteria but is seen to be on “the right path”.
The “Innovation” WebFish and the WebFish “Special Prize” are not awarded automatically every year - only when a suitable contribution is found.
Barrier-free contributions receive special attention.
