Institute
Who we are
We are the Sozialwissenschaftliches Institut der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) - The Social Sciences Institute of the Evangelical Church in Germany. We work in the tradition of Protestant social ethics and on the basis of Christian values. We are a centre of competence in social sciences and theology, which we make available to the Church to assist it in the exercise of its ministry.
- We carry out research and practical projects on subjects at the interface between church and society.
- We work on matters of topical relevance, especially from the fields of economics and social affairs, social change, the world of work, and the sociology of religion and the churches.
- We work as an academic service for the EKD, which is the federation of Protestant churches in Germany, and its member churches.
