Bildungsschriften der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) in englischer Sprache veröffentlicht
Die evangelische Kirche hat als Kirche der Reformation zur Entwicklung des Bildungswesens entscheidend beigetragen und gehört heute zu den größten Bildungsanbietern in Deutschland. In verschiedenen grundlegenden Publikationen der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) sind ihre Bildungsaufgaben dargestellt und deren gesellschaftliche Relevanz erläutert. Diese Texte konzentrieren sich auf die Identifikation und Begründung theologischer und pädagogischer Maßstäbe, von denen sich das kirchliche Bildungshandeln leiten lässt.
Nun hat das Kirchenamt der EKD in Kooperation mit dem Comenius-Institut in Münster die wichtigsten Passagen aus den Denkschriften, Orientierungshilfen und anderen offiziellen Verlautbarungen der EKD im Bildungsbereich zusammengestellt und ins Englische übersetzt, um sie einem internationalen Publikum zugänglich zu machen.
Die Textsammlung hat einen Umfang von 320 Seiten und erscheint als Buch unter dem Titel „Education from a Protestant Perspective. A Collection of Documents from the Evangelical Church in Germany“ im Gütersloher Verlagshaus. Es kostet 17,99 € und ist über den Buchhandel zu beziehen.

The Evangelical Church in Germany, the church of the Reformation, has decisively contributed to the development of the education system and is one of the largest providers of education in Germany today. Ist most important activities in education are docu mented in numerous publications and their relevance for society is explored. These texts expound the reasoning behind the theological and educational models that form the basis for church activities in education.
Now the EKD, in cooperation with the Comenius-Institute in Muenster, has key sections of these documents, memoranda and official statements translated into English for the use of an international audience.
