The Conference

The EKD Church Conference consists of members of the governing bodies of the regional churches. Member churches with more than two million church members have two votes, the others one vote on the Conference. The Church Conference and its work express the regional churches' share in direct responsibility for and influence on the life of the EKD.

The Church Conference has to give advice to the EKD and the member churches on their work. It can submit motions and proposals to the Council and/or the Synod. It participates in legislation and in the election of the Council. The Church Conference is always presided over by the Council Chairperson.
