This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months for the position of a Funding Manager, International Institutional Donor (IID) team within Institutional Donors and Business Development (IDBD) division, to be filled as soon as possible. The placeholder will be part of a diverse and multi-cultural team and is expected to lead CBM’s funding applications to international institutional donors with a particular focus on international foundations. The position is full-time with 39h/week, based in Bensheim or Berlin. 

These are your responsibilities

  • Identify and assess funding opportunities from public and private institutional donors with focus on international foundations
  • Conduct necessary research on donors to support the preparations of specific donor strategy

  • Communicate suitable funding opportunities with internal stakeholders for a Go/No-go decision

  • Manage the proposal development process for timely and quality submission

  • Support project planning for institutional donor funded projects

  • Identify potential consortia partners and support in formalizing the partnership

  • Establish and maintain a relationship with the existing and potential consortia partners

  • Ensure timely execution of the donor contract and proper handover of the project to the Grants Management team

  • Monitor funding realization and internal reporting

  • Ensure close cooperation with internal stakeholders for all institutional donor funding related tasks

  • Ensure efficient use of CBM IT systems in the institutional fundraising context 

These are your qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field of study
  • Experience in securing funding from international institutional donors (e.g. DG INTPA, DG ECHO, UN agencies, QFFD, etc.) and foundations (e.g. Qatar Charity, DP World, LEGO, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Innovative thinking and team playing attitude
  • Ability to make autonomous contributions to efficient and effective process coordination and management in the context of involved stakeholders
  • Practical international experience in development cooperation is an advantage
  • Good verbal and writing skills in English (German, French and Spanish is an advantage)
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally
  • Responsible, agile, and flexible working style
  • Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM
